The Mac/iOS productivity toolbox is evolving: local time tracking with Chronoid, doomscrolling blockers like Breaktime, gamified tasks like Bloxy, study aids like Drongo, and real-time performance chats with Wispr Flow.

Chronoid is a Mac app that automatically tracks your time and keeps everything local, with no subscription. Since the last post, around 15 updates rolled out. Highlights include a smarter website blocker (works with Zen, Comet, Dia); a full Pomodoro timer with break reminders; a new productivity trends dashboard; local AI categorization (beta); and the option to connect a local/cloud LLM for chat insights. Data stays on your Mac in an sqlite database, and reports cover daily/weekly/monthly views. [1]

Breaktime blocks doomscrolling on iOS by forcing a timer every time you open distracting apps like TikTok. The app blocks those apps 24/7 and requires you to start a timer for each session. - Travel mode auto-unblocks when you leave home. - Strict mode (no bypasses). - Minimal UI and a 30-second setup. Bloxy is a gamified task/habit tracker inspired by Tetris. Core features are free; there’s a Pro subscription and a lifetime option that unlocks extra features, plus a free trial. [3]

Drongo brings Notes, Quiz, and Flashcards to studying. The creator plans more tools like converters, mindmaps, calculators, and reference materials in upcoming versions. [4]

Wispr Flow has rebounded from earlier hiccups, with renewed reliability and responsive support. Outages were tied to regional blocks, but latest updates emphasize a smoother real-time discussion workflow. [5]
